The Opolette™ HR is a true solid state, integrated tunable laser system. The system incorporates a Diode-Pumped-Solid-State (DPSS) laser as the pump source and can operate at pulse repetition rates of up to 100 Hz. All optical components (including the pump laser, the OPO, and the optional UV modules) are mounted on a single optical frame. The laser head is extremely compact, with a footprint of only 9x12”, and is hermetically sealed to protect the optics. The control software, which is provided with the system, offers complete control of all the system functions, from laser operation to wavelength tuning and scanning. The system is portable and requires no maintenance.

Access to fundamental Wavelengths
This option includes mounted dichroic mirrors to provide access to the laser fundamental as well as the harmonic beams. The optics can be placed and removed from the beams' path without the need to align the system.
Attenuator
The energy of the OPO can be continuously attenuated by rotating the polarizer located on the outside of the system.
Automated Signal/Idler selection (Only available for models 355 II)
The OPO generates two collinear beams, identified as Signal and Idler. In a type II OPO these two beams are orthogonally polarized and the separation is done by a polarizer that is placed in the beam path. In standard systems the user has to manually “flip” the polarizer to select between the Signal and Idler beams. In this option the polarizer is mounted on a motorized rotation stage and is automatically controlled by the software to match the selected OPO wavelength. By automating the rotation of the polarizer, the user can seamlessly tune from Signal to Idler, and continuously SCAN over the entire wavelength range.
Fiber delivery system

The Fiber Delivery System is designed to couple the OPO output into an optical fiber. The fiber-optic delivers the beam directly to an experiment without the use of relay mirrors and optics. The system is comprised of a fiber optic, focusing and imaging optics, and a mounting bracket for aligning the beam into the fiber. A tool kit for scribing, cutting, and polishing the fiber is included with this option.

The fiber “homogenizes” the OPO beam and the exiting beam profile is flat (top-hat). The coupling efficiency of the fiber is about 60-70%.

Wavemeter

The wavemeter offers real time measurement and display of the OPO wavelength.  A small fraction of the OPO beam is coupled via fiber into a built-in spectrograph. The actual wavelength of the OPO is displayed on the Control Panel of the computer control software in real time. This option enables Fast Scan™, and Closed-loop Tuning.

Fast Scan™ is an option in which the OPO can be tuned across a very wide spectral range in a few seconds while the wavelength at each laser pulse is recorded (e.g. scanning from 410 to 710 nm can be accomplished in about 3 seconds). If the pulse repetition rate is set to 10 Hz, the system will generate and record 30 pulses, each at a different wavelength within this range. The system's external trigger can be used to activate the user's data acquisition such as cameras or other photometric devices to generate accurate spectral scans. Possible applications: Spectrophotometry and Spectral Imaging.

Closed-loop Tuning enables a high accuracy tuning method that is better than 1 nm in the Signal.
