Opolette 532

The Opolette 532 tunable laser system utilizes patented optical parametric oscillator (OPO) technology to generate wavelengths over a broad range in the NIR. Designed for portability, the entire laserhead fits into a 7x12” footprint and ships completely sealed to protect optical components from the environment. Requiring no installation, the system includes verification hardware to check alignment after shipping or relocation. All tunable beams exit the system from the same location resulting in one beam path to the end-user’s application. Wavelength tuning is hands-free and PC controlled. The system includes the Quantel Ultra Nd:YAG pump laser, harmonics, low-divergence OPO, access to 532 nm pump beam, control software, SDK, and Automated Signal/Idler selection.

Option 1 Group

Energy Level

The Opolette 532 can be configured for two energy levels, as presented in the tuning graphs. Select the desired configuration based on the graph. The outside dimensions are identical.

Option 2 Group

Access to pump laser wavelengths

Residual 1064 nm pump laser wavelength exits the system from a front aperture simultaneous with OPO laser light. External beam dumps block the light when not in use. The amount of residual pump laser wavelength energy varies depending on the harmonic or OPO conversion efficiency. Access to the residual OPO pump laser wavelength comes included by default.

Option 3 Group

Fiber Delivery Kit

Simplify delivery of tunable laser light by choosing the Fiber Delivery Kit. Propagation of laser light through an optical fiber 'homogenizes' the beam and transform the profile into a flat top-hat. A flexible metal sheath protects the fiber.  The transmission percentage depends on the coupling efficiency into the fiber. By default, the factory optimizes the coupling efficiency for the Signal range (680-1064 nm), however other factory optimized wavelength ranges available upon request. The Fiber Delivery Kit includes the 2.5 m long, 1 mm diameter optical fiber with 0.22 NA, focusing/imaging optics/mounts and SMA on input/output connectors. End-user installs fiber hardware outside the system following alignment instructions. Removal of fiber hardware allows free-space access. Integrated, alignment-free fiber delivery available upon request (no free-space access).

Option 5 Group

Motorized Variable Attenuator

Vary the OPO pulse energy by choosing the Motorized Variable Attenuator (MVA) option. By default the end-user changes the OPO pulse energy by changing the pump laser pulse energy through software command. However, OPO pulse-pulse energy instability increases at lower pump laser energy levels. The MVA option involves maintaining the pump laser pulse energy at maximum and using optical attenuation to change the OPO pulse energy without compromising energy stability. The MVA option connects through the electronics unit for computer control. Choice of internal (10% optical loss at max) or external (removable for full access to OPO energy).

Option 6 Group

Real-time Wavelength Monitoring and Auto Harmonic Optimization

The option includes a built-in wavemeter combined with motorized harmonics. The wavemeter provides real time measurement of the OPO wavelength, which is displayed in the control software screen. The option allows closed-loop tuning of the OPO , which provides better than 1 nm accuracy of the Signal wavelength. In addition, the wavemeter signal serves as a feed-back reference, which can be used to optimize the phase-matching of the harmonics.  Complete automation of phase matching simplifies the procedure to a single click through the Harmonics Auto-optimization software command (included).

19" Rackmount Conversion

Choice of standard bench-top power supply and OPO control electronics box (default) or 19" rackmountable versions.

Option 10 Group

Software Development Kit

Software Development Kit (SDK) that allows end-users to integrate system control functions into third-party software can be downloaded for no charge. The SDK works under most Windows-based programming environments and provided with limited technical support.
